Our Team

The Board of Directos for the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund is comprised of watersport operators, educators and other interested parties from throughout the TCI.  They volunteer their time to help guide the management of the TCRF in their fund-raising and environmental program processes.

Joel P. Goldfarb, MD - Chairman

Joel has been a PADI certified diver since 1979 and first visited TCI in the early 1990’s. He has been a fan ever since his first visit. He is a retired gastroenterologist and hepatologist and currently has interests in several NYC area restaurants. He is also an amateur aquarist with a coral reef tank that has been so successful that fragments of his corals are thriving in many tanks in the NYC area. He has been a consistent supporter of environmental causes around the world. He has been associated with the TCRF for at least a decade, joining the board of directors and now serving as chair of the board. His goal is to ensure that the important projects undertaken by TCRF can be maintained well into the future by refining the mission statement and creating a solid and specific five-year plan.

Alizee Zimmerman - Executive Director

Alizee Zimmermann was born in Grand Turk and raised on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI). Having grown up on, in, and under the water, she has a fervent passion for the ocean and specifically the marine environment of the TCI. Indeed, she could swim before she could walk and her best friend was Jojo the dolphin.

Becoming a certified diver at the earliest age allowed (at the time it was 12 years old for PADI Jr. Open Water Dive) she spent as much time as possible exploring the coral reefs around Providenciales. At the age of thirteen Alizee was part of the islands’ very first Junior National Park Program where her passion and understanding for the need for conservation was nurtured. She is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and has worked on various dive boats including the Aggressor Liveaboard.

Alizee volunteered for the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund (TCRF) for two years before being hired as our first full-time Executive Director.
