The origin of the reef fund

The Turks and Caicos Reef Fund was co-founded by Don Stark and David Stone, none of what exists today would have been possible without them. While they are no longer directly involved, TCRF is built upon the foundational work they did.

David stone

David Stone co-founded the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund in 2010 to help preserve the islands’ marine environment. His contributions to conservation and heritage also included volunteer photography for the Turks & Caicos National Trust between 2003 and 2016, documenting sites such as Little Iguana Cay and Cheshire Hall, and drafting a bylaw on the use of metal-detecting equipment for the Department of Environment & Maritime Affairs. Although no longer directly involved in TCRF’s work, David helped lay the foundation for the organization we are today.
